Since the beginning of the community called La Jolla, fascinating people have been drawn to this paradise.
They have come to teach, to write, to paint, to learn, to retire, to revel in natural beauty and today to even make money. They have come from all over the world.

Taha Moukite came originally from Marrakesh. Although at first he came to enjoy the great natural beauty of La Jolla, it turned out he came to live very literally, to live. And now: to help other people to live.
Thirteen years ago he was told he was going to to die. He was diagnosed as having incurable cancer. He is now in perfect health. And he is sharing his story with many of us who are in the process of overcoming cancer.
Taha calls his story, "A Mighty Wake-Up Call" because he believes that is what cancer, or any illness can be. And being awakened (however painfully) can be the time to change one's way of thinking and being and thus a beginning of new health. Happiness, too.
You may have seen Taha, a handsome, vigorous man in his early fifties, walking his beautiful golden retriever named Healer. Walking is one of Taha's many methods for becoming and staying healthy. When he was first ill, he forced himself to walk hundreds of miles. He taught himself how to walk and visualize and breathe out toxins.
Taha Moukite has given his incredibly uplifting and infectious joy and faith to many, many people who have needed help. He is one of this community's special natural assets.
